A cruise gives a family both, shared time and room to split off. On-board activities and a wide range of dining keep every age occupied, and with no packing or transiting between stops, it’s one of the easier ways to see several places as a family in one trip.

Where Can You Set Sail

The best cruise routes are the ones travellers return to. The Mediterranean offers ancient history and island-hopping across Greece, Italy, and the French coast. The Norwegian Fjords deliver dramatic mountain scenery and midnight sun in summer. Alaska showcases glaciers and wildlife in pristine wilderness. The Caribbean brings turquoise waters, white sand beaches, and island culture. Closer to home, the Arabian Sea offers cultural immersion and spice-trade heritage, while Southeast Asia winds through limestone cliffs, floating villages, and Thailand’s quiet islands. These are the routes that stay with you.

Frequently Asked Questions

Four to twelve months out gives you the best choice of cabin and price, especially for peak season and popular routes like the Caribbean or Mediterranean. Late deals exist, but with far less choice.

A passport valid at least six months past your return date, visas for certain ports of call, and travel insurance. Requirements vary by cruise line and itinerary, we confirm the full list before you book.

The base fare covers your cabin and standard dining. Gratuities, specialty dining, alcohol, spa treatments, shore excursions and insurance are usually separate, a premium package or class of travel can bundle most of it in.

A day the ship docks somewhere, giving you roughly six to twelve hours to go ashore on an excursion or explore independently before returning on board for the evening.

You’re entitled to a full refund or a transfer to another sailing date. Cancellations on your side are subject to the line’s own policy, which is why we recommend travel insurance as the real safety net.

Mumbai is the main departure point for international cruises, with Cochin and Goa also in use. From Bengaluru, the usual route is a short flight to Mumbai, we arrange that transfer as part of the booking.

The Arabian Sea, the Red Sea, and routes toward Singapore and Southeast Asia are the most popular, typically five to fourteen days and best sailed between October and March.

Not compulsory, but we’d always recommend it, it’s the one thing that covers a medical emergency at sea, a missed connection, or a cancelled return flight.
